This policy describes SwitchTrace 0.1.0 (1) and this website. SwitchTrace is provided by Anul Jain, based in India.

What the app reads

SwitchTrace reads the iPhone's reported battery charging state while the app is active to show an observation on the paired Apple Watch. It does not measure household electricity or read a home's electrical equipment.

What passes between your devices

The iPhone sends the outlet name, session identifier, sequence, charging observation, trace phase and timing information to the paired Watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. SwitchTrace has no developer-operated backend, app account, advertising SDK, analytics service or tracking feature. The developer does not receive these observations or your saved notes through the app.

What is stored

Outlet labels, manually chosen breaker numbers, record identifiers and save timestamps are stored in the Watch app's private storage. The app does not provide cloud note sync or a server copy of those notes. The iPhone holds the current outlet name and trace in memory and does not persist a directory.

Retention and deletion

Saved notes remain locally until you remove them or the app/device data is removed. Removing a note requires confirmation. There is no developer recovery service. Apple-managed device backups may contain app data because the local store is not excluded from operating-system backup. Those backups and Apple's diagnostic services are governed separately by your device settings and Apple's terms. SwitchTrace does not control or delete those copies.

Messages you choose to send us

If you email support, Anul Jain receives the email address, message and any attachments you voluntarily provide. We use them to reply and investigate or resolve the reported problem. Email is handled through the email services used to send and receive your message. We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. You can ask about or request deletion of your correspondence by emailing the privacy contact below. Do not include sensitive home or account information in your message.

This website and its host

This static website contains no analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels, third-party fonts or submission forms. It is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security purposes, whether or not a visitor is signed in to GitHub. GitHub controls its hosting records under its own privacy statement; its retention depends on the purposes and obligations described there.
