PhotoHush Support
Fast answers for choosing, inspecting, cleaning, and sharing private photo copies.
How do I inspect a photo?
Open PhotoHush and choose an image from Photos or Files. Select the imported image to see its privacy summary, common metadata, and expandable technical details.
Does cleaning change my original?
No. PhotoHush creates a separate copy. Your original photo remains untouched in Photos or Files.
What does verification mean?
PhotoHush checks that the output format is preserved, compares decoded pixels with the source, and scans the result again for recognized sensitive metadata before reporting success.
Why do filename and file size remain?
Those are filesystem facts rather than embedded EXIF, IPTC, or XMP fields. PhotoHush explains this distinction before you create a private copy.
Why might an iCloud photo need internet?
The app itself does not upload or collect data. Apple’s Photos or Files service may still download a cloud-only item that you selected before local processing can begin.
A file could not be cleaned
PhotoHush fails closed when a format cannot be copied and verified safely. Try a JPEG, HEIC, PNG, or TIFF image. Video, Live Photos, animated images, and RAW sidecars are not part of the first release.
